Texting: Taking Numerous Tolls On Us

In the article "Texting May Be Taking a Toll" Katie Hafner makes points and takes notice of the bad things about texting. She expalins to us how texting can effect teenagers such as myself. Teenagers can become can sleep deprived, they get distracted in school, their grades can begin to fall, and their fingers begin to cramp up from all of the texting. One pediatrician recently conducted a survey at two high schools and found that a lot of them were sending hundreds of messages a day routinely.
This article includes quotes from experts such as psychologists, pediatricians, psychotherapist, and teachers. The fact that stood out to me the most was that according to the Nielsen Company American teenagers sent and received an average of 2,272 text messages per month in the last three months of 2008. This shows that teenagers really do text a lot. Even though this was four years ago it still counts as something.
I think that texting does take a toll on us and that we really just never noticed it. Before I read this article, I didn't think texting was such a big thing but this article made me realize that texting really can harm us in many ways. This really is a problem and I think there are many solutions to this problem in particular. Maybe, just maybe for a day at the least to not have any future problems by texting, people could take a break from texting for just a day and then the risks won't effect you so much or at all.
This article reminded me of my sister. She is the one who texts the most in our house and sometimes it is non-stop for the whole day. This article reminds me of her because sometimes she does complain of her fingers hurting and she wakes up pretty tired in the morning. Both relate to each other because they both talk about the problems that are happening as a result of texting. .
